River: Companies Now Absorbing 1,755 BTC Daily, Far Outpacing Miner Supply
Bitcoin’s supply is being rapidly absorbed by businesses, according to new data from River.
The U.S.-based firm estimates that companies now add roughly 1,755 BTC to their wallets each day, compared with just 450 BTC generated by miners since the April 2024 halving.
River’s flow diagram, published Aug. 25, also shows ETFs and funds taking in 1,430 BTC/day, while governments and other entities account for smaller but steady inflows. Net outflows appear among individuals, who shift about 3,196 BTC/day into institutional channels.
The company noted its figures rely on tagging, filings, and heuristics, meaning inflows may reflect OTC trades or custodial transfers rather than pure spot buying. Even so, River argues institutions are becoming the dominant force in bitcoin supply dynamics.
