ARK Invest has doubled down on Solmate (BREA), acquiring nearly $162 million in shares after joining a $300 million funding round led by UAE-based Pulsar Group.

Solmate’s Rebrand and Strategic Shift

The Nasdaq-listed sports club owner, formerly Brera Holdings, rebranded as Solmate as part of plans to establish a digital asset treasury focused on Solana’s SOL token. Other participants in the round included RockawayX and the Solana Foundation, according to a Thursday announcement.

Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest purchased 6.5 million BREA shares, distributing them across its ETFs: ARK Innovation (ARKK), Next Generation Internet (ARKW), and Fintech Innovation (ARKF), reinforcing its strategy of backing emerging digital asset treasury firms.

Market Reaction

BREA shares surged from $7.40 to a high of $52.95 before settling at $24.90, representing a 225% gain on the day.

Meanwhile, Solana (SOL) reached its highest levels since January, crossing $250 on Thursday and trading near $244, up more than 20% this month.

The move underscores ARK Invest’s ongoing support for Solana-based digital asset initiatives and highlights growing institutional interest in altcoin-linked treasury companies.
