MetaMask Unveils $30 Million Incentive Plan, Connects It to Next Token

MetaMask Unveils $30M Onchain Rewards Program Linked to Future Token

MetaMask confirmed plans for a major rewards initiative over the weekend, allocating more than $30 million in Linea tokens to its first season. The program aims to drive activity on ConsenSys’ Ethereum layer-2 network, Linea, while integrating the MetaMask-issued mUSD stablecoin.

Described as “one of the largest onchain rewards programs ever built,” MetaMask emphasized that the initiative is “not a farming play” but a way to regularly reward users. Incentives will include referral bonuses, mUSD rewards, exclusive partner perks, and early access to the long-anticipated MetaMask token. Early adopters will receive special benefits, with the team noting, “OGs will not be ignored.”

Linea, which launched in September with a 9.4 billion token airdrop, is now being connected with MetaMask Rewards to boost engagement on the network. Meanwhile, mUSD—issued by Stripe-owned Bridge—has a circulating supply of roughly $88 million, enhancing the program’s multi-layered incentives across wallet, stablecoin, and layer-2 infrastructure.

MetaMask has yet to confirm whether any jurisdictions will be excluded or whether anti-Sybil measures will be applied, details that are critical given the history of rewards programs being gamed by opportunistic participants.
