Ripple Achieves Full Crypto Licensing Status in Luxembourg Under MiCA

The approval means Ripple now satisfies all MiCA requirements, allowing it to serve a wide range of clients—including financial institutions and businesses—across the 30-member European Economic Area. On Monday, the company confirmed that Luxembourg upgraded its preliminary CASP authorization to a full license under EU rules, granting it access to the entire EEA market.

Cassie Craddock said the authorization marks Ripple’s readiness to operate at scale while fully aligned with MiCA regulations.

Ripple is now among the few crypto firms with complete MiCA authorization, which became fully effective on July 1. Companies without approval must exit the market. Ripple had initially received a provisional license in June.

Other firms, including Binance, were unable to meet the deadline. Under MiCA, firms authorized in one EU country can offer services across the entire region.

Additionally, Ripple secured EMI status earlier this year from Luxembourg’s CSSF, supporting its expansion of regulated payment services throughout the EU.
