TRON News: USDT Activity Grows as Sun Announces Prize and TRX Reaches Moscow

TRON is making headlines across stablecoin payments, scientific philanthropy and crypto derivatives. USDT on TRON led payment activity on CoinsBee, Justin Sun backed a new prize worth up to $1 million for mathematical and scientific achievements, and Moscow Exchange introduced TRX perpetual futures for qualified investors.

USDT on TRON Leads CoinsBee Payment Activity

CoinsBee said USDT on TRON was the platform’s most-used onchain payment method during the 90 days ending September 1, 2026. Completed payments using the TRC-20 version of USDT were roughly 1.8 times higher than Bitcoin payments and 1.9 times higher than Ethereum payments.

USDT on TRON represented 16.23% of all payments processed by CoinsBee during 2026 so far, compared with 9.92% in 2025. Its share therefore increased by 64% year over year.

The figures cover successfully paid and delivered orders between June 4 and September 1. CoinsBee’s data also shows a notable difference between payment frequency and total turnover. TRC-20 accounted for 44.6% of USDT transactions but generated 64.5% of USDT turnover, indicating that its average payment value was higher than that of USDT transactions on other supported networks.

CoinsBee operates in more than 180 countries and supports over 200 cryptocurrencies. Its marketplace includes products from more than 5,000 brands and serves over 500,000 customers.

The figures represent activity on CoinsBee’s own platform rather than an independently audited assessment of global crypto payments. Nevertheless, they offer a measure of how frequently TRON-based USDT is being used within the marketplace.

Transaction costs and settlement speed remain important considerations for stablecoin payment networks, with TRC-20’s low-cost structure contributing to its role in CoinsBee’s payment activity.

CoinsBee and TRON DAO are also running a promotion from September 21 through October 5, 2026. Eligible users can receive a 2% discount when paying with USDT on TRON using the code USDT-TRC. The promotion allows one redemption per user and is subject to its stated conditions.

Justin Sun Backs New $1 Million Prize

Justin Sun has backed a prize offering as much as $1 million for selected mathematical and scientific breakthroughs, according to The Block.

The initiative, called the “Justin Sun Prize,” is intended to encourage solutions to 66 mathematical problems. The first $1 million award was given to an OpenAI research team for mathematical work generated by GPT-6 Astra.

The project adds another scientific focus to Sun’s philanthropic efforts, with the prize designed to support research and recognize breakthroughs.

TRX Gains Institutional Derivatives Exposure in Moscow

Moscow Exchange has expanded its crypto derivatives lineup with cash-settled perpetual futures covering BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX. The TRX contract is listed as TRXUSDF.

The contracts track USD-denominated MOEX crypto indexes but settle profits and losses in Russian rubles. They are rolled daily and do not require delivery of the underlying tokens.

Only qualified investors can access the products.

Initial margin requirements are set at 22% for BTC, 35% for ETH, 38% for SOL, 43% for XRP and 30% for TRX.

MOEX said its existing digital-asset futures business has more than 72,000 qualified investors and has generated cumulative turnover of more than 600 billion rubles.

The exchange positioned the new perpetual contracts as an extension of its existing crypto derivatives market rather than an introduction of spot trading. For TRX, the launch provides qualified investors with another regulated way to obtain derivatives exposure to the token.
