Analysts from Wall Street back Strategy’s ambitious $84B Bitcoin expansion plan.

Strategy (MSTR)‘s bold initiative to expand its bitcoin holdings by $84 billion has garnered significant support from top Wall Street analysts, who are optimistic about the company’s long-term prospects. The revised plan, which involves raising funds through a mix of stock and debt issuance, is seen as a savvy move by analysts from both Benchmark and TD Cowen, who believe it will solidify Strategy’s leadership in the growing digital asset space.

Benchmark’s Mark Palmer maintained his buy rating and $650 price target, highlighting Strategy’s unique position in the market and its ability to create substantial shareholder value through bitcoin acquisitions. Palmer noted that the company’s first-mover advantage and strategic bitcoin accumulation give it an edge over competitors, and the expanded plan only strengthens that advantage.

Similarly, Lance Vitanza of TD Cowen expressed confidence in Strategy’s ability to raise the additional $56.7 billion needed for the expanded goal. Vitanza, who also maintains a buy rating and $550 price target, pointed to Strategy’s strong market cap of $111 billion and ample liquidity as key factors that will allow the company to successfully execute this plan.

The expanded $84 billion target reflects Strategy’s growing confidence in the future of bitcoin. The company has also increased its 2025 BTC Yield goal to 25% and its BTC $ Gain target to $15 billion, both of which are seen as ambitious yet achievable given the company’s performance thus far.

While Strategy reported a $5.9 billion unrealized loss in Q1 2025 due to fluctuations in bitcoin prices, CFO Andrew Kang remained optimistic, citing the company’s robust financial position and transparent accounting practices as a foundation for long-term success.

Following the announcement, MSTR shares saw a 1.8% increase, closing at $388, as bitcoin hovered near $97,000, signaling continued investor confidence in both the cryptocurrency and Strategy’s future prospects.
