SharpLink Deploys $170M ETH Into Yield Strategy on Linea Network
SharpLink Gaming (SBET) has moved $170 million worth of Ethereum (ETH $3,089.74) into a multi-year yield strategy on ConsenSys’ Linea network, advancing plans first outlined late last year.
The strategy layers native Ethereum staking yields with restaking rewards via EigenCloud, alongside incentives from Linea and ether.fi, all structured under a qualified custodian through Anchorage Digital, the firm said in a post on X Thursday.
This deployment follows SharpLink’s October disclosure that it intended to allocate up to $200 million of ETH to Linea over multiple years. The setup provides an institutional-grade version of a strategy popular in crypto-native markets: stacking multiple yield streams on ETH while maintaining tight operational controls.
Consensys-backed Linea is a zero-knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine (zkEVM), offering faster transaction speeds and lower fees by bundling transactions for bulk verification on Ethereum mainnet. SharpLink described the approach as creating an “enhanced yield” profile, aiming to make ETH holdings more productive without adopting a fully decentralized finance (DeFi) custody model.
The move reflects a broader trend among publicly traded crypto-linked firms, which are increasingly positioning themselves as yield-and-infrastructure vehicles rather than purely directional token plays. SharpLink shares have attracted attention recently, with Bernstein initiating coverage at an outperform rating, highlighting the firm as an institutional gateway to Ethereum.
