Gemini Launches Expanded Services in Australia After AUSTRAC Registration

Gemini Expands in Australia with AUSTRAC Registration

Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has officially launched operations in Australia following registration with AUSTRAC, the country’s financial intelligence and anti-money laundering regulator.

The exchange’s Australian entity, Gemini Intergalactic Australia Pty Ltd, is now authorized to provide digital currency services, allowing Australians to trade cryptocurrencies using the AUD. This move comes as Australia’s crypto adoption rate reaches 22%, putting it on par with the United States, according to Gemini’s Global State of Crypto Report 2025.

Saad Ahmed, Head of APAC at Gemini, said, “Australia’s growing digital asset market is a key focus for our Asia-Pacific expansion strategy.”

James Logan has been appointed Head of Australia to oversee operations. With prior experience at Luno and Bitget, Logan will guide Gemini’s push to provide a safe, compliant, and transparent platform for both retail and institutional users.
