BTG Pactual’s Mynt Names Five Crypto Tokens to Watch in ‘Uptober’
Brazil’s largest investment bank, BTG Pactual, through its crypto platform Mynt, has identified five cryptocurrencies it expects to perform strongly in October: bitcoin (BTC) $125,028, ether (ETH) $4,672, solana (SOL) $235, avalanche (AVAX) $30.79, and sky (SKY).
The selections, detailed in a report by Matheus Parizotto and João Galhardo, reflect optimism in the crypto market as U.S. interest rates ease and anticipation grows for new crypto ETFs.
Bitcoin and Ether Remain Institutional Anchors
Bitcoin continues to dominate institutional flows, with $3.5 billion added to BTC spot ETFs in September and corporate treasuries acquiring 43,000 BTC, valued over $5 billion. Mynt describes BTC as a “long-term pillar,” emphasizing its liquidity, network security, and widespread adoption.
Ether remains a key player in on-chain finance. It handles the bulk of stablecoin transactions and real-world asset tokenization projects. In the past six months, U.S. spot ETFs added $11.3 billion in ETH, while corporate treasuries acquired 816,000 ETH in September alone, signaling robust institutional demand.
Solana, Avalanche, and Sky: Growth and Real-World Applications
Solana attracts attention for speed and low transaction costs. The network processed over $100 billion in DEX volume for the third consecutive month, while total value locked (TVL) surpassed $30 billion, indicating deepening DeFi liquidity. Mynt also cites potential inflows from upcoming spot SOL ETFs.
Avalanche (AVAX) has shown sharp growth in on-chain activity, with daily transactions up 46% and stablecoin transfers rising 421% over the last quarter. Its subnet architecture allows enterprises to deploy custom blockchains, enhancing real-world use cases.
Sky Protocol (SKY), formerly MakerDAO, rounds out the list. Its USDS stablecoin has a circulating supply near $8 billion, and the Sky Savings Rate offers 4.75%. Combined with a $77 million token buyback program, SKY is positioned as a yield-generating DeFi token with long-term potential.
