Metaplanet Boosts Bitcoin Holdings With $117 Million Purchase, Surpasses 11,000 BTC
Metaplanet, the Tokyo-based hospitality firm increasingly known for its aggressive bitcoin strategy, has acquired another 1,111 BTC in a deal worth $117 million.
The purchase was executed at an average price of $105,681 per bitcoin, capitalizing on last weekend’s price dip triggered by geopolitical tensions. Bitcoin briefly dropped to around $98,000 following U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, offering a window for strategic accumulation.
As of now, bitcoin has rebounded and trades above $101,000.
This latest move pushes Metaplanet’s total bitcoin holdings to 11,111 BTC, valued at more than $1.1 billion. The company’s overall average cost basis stands near $95,700 per bitcoin.
