Metaplanet Boosts Its Bitcoin Reserves by 2,205 BTC, Topping 15,555 Total Holdings

Metaplanet Expands Bitcoin Holdings by 2,205 BTC, Total Now Exceeds 15,500 as Treasury Strategy Grows

Japanese firm Metaplanet has increased its Bitcoin reserves, acquiring an additional 2,205 BTC as part of its ongoing treasury strategy. The company’s total bitcoin holdings have now reached 15,555 BTC, as revealed in a disclosure on Monday.

The latest purchase was made at an average price of 15.64 million yen per bitcoin, translating to roughly 34.49 billion yen ($213 million). To date, Metaplanet has invested 225.82 billion yen ($1.38 billion) in bitcoin, with an overall average acquisition cost of 14.52 million yen per BTC.

Metaplanet reports a proprietary metric called BTC Yield, which measures the increase in bitcoin value per fully diluted share, factoring in potential share dilution.

For the quarter ending June 30, Metaplanet’s BTC Yield stood at 95.6%, a decline from the previous quarter’s impressive 309.8%. BTC Yield reflects how much the company’s bitcoin holdings grow on a per-share basis, serving as an indicator of shareholder value creation through its treasury strategy.

Alongside BTC Yield, the company tracks BTC Gain and BTC Yen Gain, which express the same growth in terms of added bitcoin quantity and yen-based gains, providing further insight into how treasury moves impact financial performance.
