Metaplanet Increases Bitcoin Stash with 497 BTC Purchase, Now Holds 2,888 BTC
Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has bolstered its Bitcoin treasury, acquiring 497 BTC for $43.3 million at an average price of $88,448, CEO Simon Gerovich shared on X.
This latest buy brings Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings to 2,888 BTC, with a cumulative acquisition cost of 36.444 billion yen ($240 million) and an average entry price of $83,172 per BTC.
Earlier this week, the firm also added 156 BTC to its reserves when Bitcoin briefly pulled back to $87,000, capitalizing on market fluctuations. At press time, BTC is trading at $87,200.
Metaplanet continues its aggressive Bitcoin accumulation strategy, reinforcing its position as a corporate leader in BTC adoption amid ongoing macroeconomic uncertainty.
