Metaplanet Boosts Bitcoin Holdings to 5,000 BTC, Records 121.1% BTC Yield in 2025
Tokyo-based hospitality firm Metaplanet Inc. (TSE: 3350) has expanded its bitcoin treasury to 5,000 BTC, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing strategy to adopt Bitcoin as a reserve asset.
The company’s total BTC holdings are now valued at approximately $428.1 million, with an average purchase price of $85,621 per bitcoin.
In its latest move, Metaplanet acquired an additional 145 BTC at an average price of $93,327 per coin, amounting to roughly $13.6 million. This aggressive accumulation approach has paid off, with the company reporting a year-to-date BTC Yield of 121.1% for 2025.
BTC Yield, a proprietary key performance indicator developed by Metaplanet, measures the increase in bitcoin per share and filters out the effects of share dilution. In the first quarter alone, the firm recorded a BTC Yield of 95.6%.
Despite the impressive treasury performance, Metaplanet shares were trading down 5% at the time of writing.
