Pump.fun’s PUMP Token Trades at 40% Premium Before ICO, Binance Futures Listing Looms
Interest is surging around Pump.fun’s upcoming token sale as traders push prices for its official token, PUMP, well above the planned ICO level.
On derivatives exchange Hyperliquid, PUMP is currently priced at $0.0056, marking a 40% premium over the ICO price of $0.004. The PUMP-USD perpetual futures pair launched on July 9 following high community demand, offering traders up to 3x leverage. In just its first 24 hours, the contract recorded an impressive $30 million in trading volume.
Open interest on Hyperliquid has surpassed $17 million, underscoring the strong appetite for exposure to PUMP. Next, traders are watching for Binance Futures, which plans to list PUMP perpetual contracts at 07:30 UTC on July 10, a move expected to bring even more liquidity and visibility to the token.
Inside the Token Sale
Pump.fun’s ICO will distribute 33% of its total 1 trillion PUMP tokens, split between private and public rounds. To date, 18% of the supply has already been sold privately, with the remaining 15% set aside for the public sale, both priced at $0.004 per token. Notably, the entire token allocation will be fully unlocked at launch, offering immediate liquidity for investors—a detail that has caught traders’ attention.
Pump.fun’s Broader Vision
PUMP isn’t just another meme coin—it’s central to Pump.fun’s ambitions to build a Web3-native social network aimed at challenging established giants like TikTok, Twitch, and Facebook. Unlike traditional platforms, Pump.fun wants to reward users financially, allowing both creators and participants to share in the platform’s growth and success.
Since early 2024, Pump.fun has been a driving force in the Solana ecosystem, capitalizing on the chain’s fast and low-cost infrastructure to fuel a boom in new token launches. The platform has generated more than $600 million in revenue, primarily from fees tied to meme coin deployments, solidifying its reputation as a major player in Solana’s thriving on-chain economy.
