Ripple’s Hidden Road Opens U.S. Crypto OTC Brokerage Platform

Ripple-Owned Hidden Road Unveils Crypto Swap Service for U.S. Institutions

Hidden Road, recently acquired by Ripple in a $1.25 billion deal, has launched a new over-the-counter (OTC) crypto brokerage service for institutional investors in the United States, marking a major step in expanding access to cash-settled digital asset swaps.

The service, operated via Hidden Road’s FCA-regulated UK arm — Hidden Road Partners CIV UK Ltd — allows institutional clients in the U.S. to trade a wide range of crypto OTC swaps, alongside access to cross-margining and financing options.

“OTC swaps account for a large share of global digital asset activity, yet U.S. institutions have been left out of this segment,” said Michael Higgins, Hidden Road’s International CEO. “This launch bridges that gap, offering broader tools for sophisticated investors in a maturing market.”

OTC swaps enable large crypto trades to be settled off-exchange, preserving price stability and discretion — key features for institutions dealing with high volumes.

Ripple’s acquisition of Hidden Road earlier this year was aimed at scaling the non-bank prime brokerage globally, signaling its deeper push into institutional crypto infrastructure.
