Semler Scientific Buys More Bitcoin, Now Holds $467M Worth
Semler Scientific (SMLR) has acquired an additional 185 BTC for $20 million, continuing its aggressive bitcoin accumulation strategy. The purchase, made over the 10 days ending June 3, came at an average price of $107,974 per coin.
This latest move raises Semler’s total bitcoin holdings to 4,449 BTC, now valued at approximately $467 million at current prices. The firm’s total BTC acquisition cost stands at $410 million, with an average purchase price of $92,158 per BTC.
To fund these buys, Semler has drawn from its $500 million at-the-market equity program launched on April 15. As of June 3, it had raised $136.2 million by issuing 3.5 million new shares.
Despite a 26.7% YTD gain on its bitcoin holdings, SMLR stock remains down 35% for the year. Shares were flat in premarket trading Tuesday.
Semler’s pivot toward bitcoin mirrors broader institutional interest in crypto as a treasury asset—though the market remains divided on the long-term impact for shareholders.
