Semler Scientific Invests Another $50 Million in Bitcoin to Strengthen Holdings

Medical device company Semler Scientific (NASDAQ: SMLR) has expanded its bitcoin portfolio with a $50 million acquisition of 455 BTC, marking its third-largest purchase since embracing a bitcoin standard about a year ago.

The recent buy, executed over the 10 days ending May 22 at an average price of approximately $109,801 per bitcoin, was funded through Semler’s ongoing at-the-market (ATM) equity offering. Since April 15, the company has issued over 3 million shares, raising nearly $115 million.

This latest addition brings Semler’s total bitcoin holdings to 4,264 BTC, acquired for a cumulative $390 million and now valued at over $450 million.

Semler’s BTC Yield—a key metric measuring bitcoin holdings relative to diluted shares outstanding—has climbed to 25.8% in 2025, underscoring its aggressive adoption of digital assets.

Despite the strategic move, Semler’s shares fell 5.3% in premarket trading on Friday, alongside bitcoin’s retreat to $108,300 amid broader market uncertainty.
