MicroStrategy Purchases Additional 11,000 Bitcoin for $1.1B, Total Holdings Now 461K BTC

MicroStrategy (MSTR), under the leadership of Michael Saylor, has once again increased its Bitcoin holdings. For the week ending January 19, the company added 11,000 BTC to its portfolio for a total of $1.1 billion, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 461,000 BTC. The latest purchase came at an average price of $101,191 per Bitcoin, raising the overall average purchase price of the company’s Bitcoin holdings to $63,610.

As expected, Saylor teased the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) with the cryptic message, “Things will be different tomorrow.” After the announcement, Saylor posted multiple photos with high-profile figures such as Eric Trump, David Sacks, and Robert Kennedy Jr., sparking further speculation.

In premarket trading, MicroStrategy’s stock saw a slight dip, while Bitcoin traded around $104,500, a minor decrease from late Friday’s close. U.S. stock markets were closed on Monday in observance of the MLK holiday.
