CME Acknowledges XRP, SOL Futures Leak as Mistaken, No Decisions Have Been Finalized.

CME Clarifies XRP and Solana Futures Leak Was an Error, No Futures Plans Confirmed

A CME representative confirmed that a leak earlier today showing XRP (XRP) and Solana (SOL) futures contracts potentially launching on Feb. 10 was a mistake.

“A beta page from our website was released in error earlier today,” the spokesperson told CoinDesk. “The page was part of our test environment, and no decisions have been made regarding the launch of XRP or SOL futures contracts.”

The leak, which was shared via a screenshot on X earlier in the day, had sparked excitement, with speculation that CME was preparing to list futures for XRP and SOL. Following the leak, both cryptocurrencies saw a 3% increase in price before retracing some of their gains.

With CME’s clarification, the initial speculation has cooled, and no official announcements have been made regarding any futures contracts for XRP or SOL. The market will continue to watch for any future developments on this front.
