XRPL Payment Activity Surges to 2.6 Million in One Day

XRP Ledger recorded more than 2.6 million successful payments in a single day, reaching a four-month high as network activity began to recover from a prolonged decline.

The number of daily successful XRPL payments surpassed 2.6 million for the first time in around four months, according to The Crypto Basic, with data aggregated by Cryptorank.io on Aug. 10, 2026. XRP was trading at approximately $1.01 at the time, with the increase in on-chain activity yet to translate into a meaningful price boost.

The surge follows months of weaker XRP prices and declining activity across the ledger. The latest figures indicate that payment activity may be picking up after an extended period of reduced network usage.

The 2.6 million total was the highest daily payment count recorded in four months. The Crypto Basic report linked the increase to renewed usage of the XRP Ledger despite XRP’s prolonged price weakness.

While the figure highlights stronger network activity, it reflects only one day of data. XRPL activity also includes decentralized exchange transactions, account operations and other types of ledger activity.

XRPL Activity Showed Strength in June

Separate figures from XRPScan, cited by Yahoo Finance on June 16, showed that the XRP Ledger processed 769,646 transactions that day. Successful payments accounted for roughly 427,000, making up more than half of the recorded activity.

The network averaged 23.49 transactions per second, while ledgers closed every 3.82 seconds. Decentralized exchange offer creation represented the second-largest category of activity, with account operations also contributing to the total.

On June 15, the ledger processed 900,189 transactions, including 403,422 successful payments. Both days recorded more than 750,000 transactions, indicating that the network could potentially approach the 1 million daily transaction mark if payment and decentralized exchange activity continues to increase.

Ripple Builds Out Institutional Services

Ripple is also expanding its institutional business beyond XRP and the XRP Ledger. Yahoo Finance reported that CEO Brad Garlinghouse expects the company to reach a $1 billion annualized revenue run rate by the end of 2026, excluding XRP held on Ripple’s balance sheet.

The target follows Ripple’s $1.25 billion purchase of prime brokerage firm Hidden Road in 2025. The acquisition expanded Ripple’s capabilities across credit, clearing and prime brokerage while complementing its existing payments business.

The latest 2.6 million-payment figure marks a significant improvement from the levels recorded over the previous four months.

The June figures also show that XRPL’s broader transaction activity is driven by several categories, including payments, decentralized exchange operations and account-related transactions, offering a wider view of the ledger’s throughput.
