Ethereum ETF Attracts $221M While ETH Eyes a New Breakout

  • Ethereum is seeing renewed institutional interest after U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs attracted more than $220 million on Aug. 20. The funds posted over $219 million in net inflows, marking their fourth consecutive day of positive flows. BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for the largest share, bringing in about $173 million.
  • The latest figure topped the $189.15 million recorded on Aug. 19, pointing to sustained institutional demand as Ethereum continues its recovery.

Ethereum ETF Demand Surges as ETH Approaches $2,400

  • BlackRock’s ETHA led the Aug. 20 inflows with roughly $173 million. Its ETHB fund added about $35.9 million, while Fidelity’s FETH attracted around $5.8 million.
  • Bitwise’s ETHW recorded approximately $2.8 million, and VanEck’s ETHV saw about $1.7 million. Other products reported relatively modest inflows or no significant movement.
  • The latest inflow came immediately after Ethereum ETFs pulled in $189 million on Aug. 19, their strongest single-day inflow since October 2025 at the time.
  • Ethereum ETFs have undergone a notable turnaround this month. After combined outflows of more than $1 billion in May and June, the funds have shifted into a sustained period of positive flows.
  • The improving ETF trend has coincided with a broader recovery in ETH, which has climbed well above the lows reached during its recent downturn.

ETH Momentum Builds

  • Ethereum’s price has strengthened alongside the ETF activity, with ETH moving above $2,300 and briefly reaching close to $2,400.
  • The rebound has lifted sentiment, while traders are now watching whether the $2,300 region can establish itself as support. Four consecutive sessions of ETF inflows suggest institutional investors are continuing to build positions despite ETH’s recent gains.
  • Exchange supply is also moving lower. Santiment data showed the amount of ETH held on exchanges falling from about 7.70 million coins on June 2 to 6.54 million on Aug. 18, a decline of roughly 15%.
  • Declining exchange balances could reduce the amount of ETH immediately available for selling. Alongside stronger ETF demand, that trend could provide additional support if buying pressure continues.
  • Ethereum’s next major hurdle is the $2,400 level. A decisive breakout above that price, combined with continued ETF inflows, could shift market attention toward higher resistance levels.
  • For now, the combination of rising ETF demand and falling exchange balances is giving Ethereum bulls another reason to watch the rally closely.
