Trump Media has moved approximately $343 million in Bitcoin to Crypto.com, prompting speculation that Donald Trump’s media company may be preparing to sell some of its cryptocurrency assets. The transfer comes as Democrats plan to investigate businesses connected to the Trump family’s crypto activities following their gains in the U.S. midterm elections.
Blockchain analytics firm Arkham identified two transactions involving 4,259 BTC transferred from wallets associated with Trump Media. The Bitcoin reportedly originated from addresses holding collateral for the company’s convertible notes, making the movement particularly significant.
The timing has raised questions about the company’s financial position. Trump Media could face a repayment obligation of nearly $1 billion later this month, while incoming Democratic lawmakers are preparing to examine the Trump family’s cryptocurrency operations. Although there is no confirmation of a sale, the latest transaction has increased attention on the company’s Bitcoin reserves.
Arkham’s blockchain data indicates that Trump Media-linked wallets sent 4,259 BTC to Crypto.com through two separate transfers, each containing more than 2,000 BTC. At prevailing market prices, the combined amount was worth approximately $343 million.
The transfer accounts for around 30% of the 14,139 BTC previously associated with Trump Media, including assets pledged as collateral.
However, the movement does not necessarily mean that the company has sold its Bitcoin. Trump Media has previously used Crypto.com for custody and trading-related activities, with comparable transfers recorded in May and August.
The source of the latest Bitcoin transfer makes the development more noteworthy. The coins came from wallets associated with convertible-note collateral. In earlier disclosures, Trump Media identified 4,260.73 BTC as security backing its outstanding notes.
A regulatory filing dated November 2 disclosed that noteholders have the option to demand cash repayment on November 30. If all eligible holders exercise this right, the company could be required to pay approximately $1 billion.
Trump Media has cautioned that refinancing or alternative funding arrangements may not provide sufficient resources to satisfy these obligations. If the company cannot secure enough capital, it may have to liquidate Bitcoin or other digital assets to cover the shortfall.
This possibility gives the $343 million transfer a potentially important financial dimension. The company could be moving assets in preparation for an upcoming liquidity requirement rather than simply adjusting its custody arrangements. Nevertheless, whether the Bitcoin is actually being sold remains unverified.
Democrats Prepare Investigation Into Trump Family’s Crypto Businesses
The transfer comes as Democrats prepare to increase scrutiny of cryptocurrency companies associated with the Trump family following their victories in the midterm elections.
World Liberty Financial, the family’s cryptocurrency venture, is among the businesses expected to attract congressional attention. Investigators are likely to examine foreign investments, business earnings, and potential conflicts of interest involving the Trump administration’s crypto-related activities.
Senator Elizabeth Warren has indicated that she intends to investigate Trump’s cryptocurrency business connections. Representative Robert Garcia, expected to assume a leading position on the House Oversight Committee, has also warned Trump-associated businesses that congressional investigations could follow.
Democrats are expected to obtain subpoena powers when the new Congress takes office in January. Reuters has previously reported that investigations into Trump family businesses could begin as early as February.
The anticipated investigations could create additional uncertainty for companies connected to the president’s family. Congressional oversight may bring their financial arrangements, cryptocurrency investments, and commercial partnerships under closer examination.
Is Trump Media Preparing to Liquidate Its Bitcoin?
Trump Media has not confirmed whether the 4,259 BTC sent to Crypto.com will be sold. However, the transfer’s size and timing, combined with the company’s potential $1 billion repayment obligation, have raised questions about whether it is considering using its Bitcoin reserves to meet financial commitments.
November 30 represents the next important milestone for investors, as eligible noteholders will be able to request repayment in cash. Attention will also remain on the transferred Bitcoin, particularly whether it stays at Crypto.com, moves to additional wallets, or appears in transactions associated with an actual sale.
Until the company provides further clarification, the purpose of the transfer remains uncertain. However, its upcoming debt obligations could make Bitcoin an important part of its financial strategy.

Democrats Renew Questions Over CZ’s Pardon Following Binance’s $6.34 Billion Hack
Democrats are also preparing to revisit the presidential pardon granted to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), adding another layer of scrutiny as the exchange faces questions following its reported $6.34 billion security breach.
Zhao stepped down as Binance CEO after his 2023 guilty plea but remains closely connected to the exchange through his public involvement and commentary. Although he has said he no longer manages Binance, he continues to defend the platform during major developments.
The October 29 incident targeted Binance’s internal wallet-signing infrastructure and led to unauthorized transfers across several blockchain networks. Binance has stated that it will absorb the financial impact of the incident, while CZ has publicly defended the exchange and attempted to reassure its users.
The breach has renewed attention on Zhao’s relationship with Binance and added political pressure surrounding questions about his pardon.

Polygon Gains Attention as Binance and Polymarket Seek to Recover Stolen Tokens
Polygon is regaining market attention as a proposed hard fork puts the network’s governance and security measures in the spotlight. POL has recently recovered toward $0.10, while Binance and Polymarket are pursuing a controversial proposal aimed at recovering millions of dollars in stolen tokens.
The initiative could improve confidence in Polygon’s ability to respond to security incidents and protect users affected by theft. However, it has also triggered concerns about decentralization and the potential consequences of governance-driven interventions.
Investors are now assessing whether the recovery proposal can strengthen confidence in the network and support further POL gains or introduce additional uncertainty that could lead to renewed selling.
