MicroStrategy Adds $1.92B in Bitcoin, Holdings Surge Past 528K BTC
MicroStrategy’s aggressive Bitcoin acquisition strategy shows no signs of slowing. The company revealed on Monday it acquired 22,048 BTC last week for a total of $1.92 billion, paying an average of $86,969 per coin.
This purchase brings MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin stash to 528,185 BTC, bought at a cumulative cost of $35.63 billion—with an average purchase price of $67,458. At today’s price of around $82,000, the company’s holdings are worth over $43 billion.
The latest buy was primarily funded through a $1.2 billion issuance of common stock. Additional funding included $18.52 million raised via the company’s STRK preferred share ATM and $711.2 million secured through the closing of its STRF preferred share offering.
MicroStrategy stock (MSTR) dipped 4% in premarket trading, mirroring Bitcoin’s 3% decline since Friday’s market close.
