Trump Jr. Calls Out Crypto “Imposters” Amid Truth Social Token Buzz
Donald Trump Jr. is drawing a clear line in the sand: Truth Social is not launching a memecoin.
In a post on X late Monday, Trump Jr. debunked rumors circulating across crypto communities suggesting that the Trump-affiliated social platform was backing a new digital token.
“There’s no truth whatsoever about Truth Social launching a memecoin,” he wrote. “Don’t be fooled by false information people are circulating.”
The denial comes after crypto influencer Ran Neuner stoked speculation with a widely shared claim that a Truth Social token—allegedly tied to the creators of the TRUMP memecoin—was imminent.
But Trump Jr. isn’t buying it, and neither is World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized finance project publicly aligned with the Trump family. In a post of its own, WLFI warned, “There is no new Trump crypto project. WLFI is the only Trump-backed DeFi initiative. The rest are scams.”
Meanwhile, a swarm of unofficial “Truth”-branded tokens has begun appearing on Ethereum and Solana decentralized exchanges, according to data from DEXTools, muddying the waters for retail traders.
Truth Social, launched in 2022, has so far steered clear of cryptocurrency launches. However, a recent shareholder update confirmed plans for a rewards-based digital token and wallet system—though it’s distinct from any public memecoin initiative.
The takeaway from Trump Jr. and WLFI is clear: beware of opportunists exploiting the Trump brand in crypto markets.
