Bitcoin Bull Pompliano Tapped to Oversee $750M Crypto Investment Initiative: FT Reports

Bitcoin Bull Pompliano to Lead $750M BTC Fund, Taking Aim at Corporate Treasury Market

Anthony Pompliano, one of the most vocal champions of bitcoin in corporate America, is preparing to lead ProCapBTC, a new investment vehicle modeled after Michael Saylor’s treasury strategy at MicroStrategy, according to a report by the Financial Times.

The firm plans to raise $750 million — split between $500 million in equity and $250 million in convertible notes — through a SPAC merger with Columbus Circle Capital 1, a blank-check company backed by Cohen & Company.

If completed, the deal would allow ProCapBTC to aggressively accumulate BTC, potentially placing it among the top 15 corporate holders of the asset. With bitcoin prices hovering around $105K, such a move could shake up institutional rankings.

Pompliano’s move comes amid a wave of renewed optimism in crypto markets. Regulatory tailwinds from the Trump administration and successful IPOs like Circle have injected fresh momentum into digital asset investment strategies.

While neither Pompliano nor Cohen & Co. have confirmed the details, sources suggest a formal announcement could come within days.
