Purpose Wins Approval for Canada’s First Spot XRP ETF, Trading Starts June 18

Purpose Investments, the firm behind the world’s first spot bitcoin ETF, has secured regulatory approval to launch a spot XRP ETF in Canada. Trading under the ticker XRPP, the fund will debut on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) on Wednesday, June 18, offering institutional and retail investors simplified access to XRP exposure.

The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) granted the final go-ahead, further cementing Canada’s reputation as a pioneer in crypto-based financial products.

Following the announcement, XRP surged nearly 7%, outpacing broader market benchmarks like bitcoin and the CoinDesk 20 Index.

“This marks another milestone for digital assets in Canada,” said Vlad Tasevski, Purpose’s Chief Innovation Officer. “We’re proud to expand investor access to regulated crypto ETFs.”
