Hsiao-Wei Wang has resigned as co-executive director of the Ethereum Foundation (EF), marking another high-profile departure from the organization’s leadership ranks.
In a post on X on Thursday, Wang announced that she was stepping down with immediate effect. She said the decision followed a recent sabbatical that allowed her to reflect on her personal priorities and future goals.
Wang’s exit comes after fellow co-executive director Tomasz Stańczak announced plans earlier this year to leave the Ethereum Foundation after helping oversee a leadership transition at the nonprofit organization behind Ethereum’s ecosystem development.
During Wang’s absence, Ethereum Foundation board member Bastian Aue helped manage the transition process and has since taken on a more significant role in guiding the organization following the departure of both executive leaders.
The resignation adds to a broader leadership shake-up at the Ethereum Foundation. At least eight senior figures have left the organization in the past five months, intensifying community concerns over the foundation’s governance, strategic direction, and ability to navigate increasing competition in the blockchain sector.
Reflecting on her departure, Wang stressed that Ethereum’s success is rooted in its global community of contributors, describing the network as something far greater than any individual, organization, or moment in time.
