Strategy Buys $75M of Bitcoin After Brief Pause in Purchases

Strategy has returned to bitcoin accumulation after a pause of about three weeks, purchasing 950 BTC last week for $75.7 million.

The company acquired the coins at an average price of $79,670 each, according to a regulatory filing issued Monday. Strategy financed the transaction using funds from its USD reserve.

The filing also revealed that $174 million in USD cash was allocated to STRC repurchases, while $57.4 million from the USD reserve was used to pay dividends on the company’s preferred stock. Strategy now has $5 billion remaining in its USD reserve and $1 billion in USD cash.

With the latest purchase, Strategy’s bitcoin holdings have reached 846,000 BTC. The company, led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has spent a cumulative $63.81 billion on its bitcoin holdings at an average acquisition price of $74,417 per BTC.

MSTR rose 7% in premarket trading as bitcoin climbed to approximately $84,500. The cryptocurrency was up 4.5% over the previous 24 hours.
