Polygon, formerly known as Matic, was established by four co-founders: Jaynti Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal, Mihailo Bjelic, and Anurag Arjun.
In a recent statement on X, Mihailo Bjelic announced his decision to step down from the Polygon Foundation board and reduce his day-to-day involvement with Polygon Labs. “After considerable thought and reflection, I have decided to step away from my active roles within Polygon,” Bjelic shared.
This move leaves Sandeep Nailwal as the last remaining original co-founder still actively involved in the project.
Nailwal acknowledged Bjelic’s key contributions to Polygon’s growth and wished him well in his future pursuits.
As Polygon evolves beyond its Matic roots, its native token POL has dipped 5% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading slightly above $0.23.
